I think you should think about the fact that some player are not on the same time zone as you. So there will always be some inconvenient when they perform a shutdown. Plus what do you prefer ? A game that the dev don't care about or a game with dev that try their best to improve the game ?
Servers are now online for all platforms. Happy Friday Trovians!
Hi Everyone
These are all fair questions about doing an update at night. Believe me, we think about this (theres many posts we've made in the past about this, but it dosent hurt for me to mention it again).
It's not always as simple as do the update at night. Here are but a few of the considerations we have to take into account:
- Console patches sometimes take coordination with Microsoft and Sony. Its safer to do this during business hours. On call is possible (and happens), but always takes longer.
- Having our team on hand. Our teams are spread across multiple time zones (PST, CST, EST, CEST, to name a few). Same reasons as above.
- 3rd Parties are sometimes involved (network providers, etc). Same reasons as above.
- Trove is released worldwide; PC and XBox don't have contained regional environments. As such, our population distribution over the day is (relatively) flat. Night for you could be prime time for another region.
- We always weigh the necessity of the patch. This one contains an important fix for players (Lunar Lancer Grapple hook). We wanted (and should have) had this out sooner. We didn't want to delay it even a few more hours if we didn't have to.
- AND: We do do (haha) updates at night (well low population time)! A lot of the time players aren't even aware of them as they happen transparently, or we can selectively target servers that arent needed because population is lower.

I am one of the few that appreciates what this patch does. I would tolerate even a whole day down to have this club saving patch done.
Thank you for the hard work to let us enjoy the game worry free from griefing idiotss.
