New gem badges not retroactively unlocked

The new gem forger badges do not unlock based on previous achieved maxed out gems. Is this intended or a bug?

  2.   This is the last Trove Team post in this thread.   #2
This is intended. There isn't a way to track previous progress, so these new badges will have to be unlocked going forward.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you for the quick reply. It's quite a bummer but luckily I've only lost progress on about 15 gems then. I can imagine that the top power rank players won't be pleased with this.

We had help before from customer support unlock obsidian total day badge.

When update arrived in Nov 14th, can we seek help from customer support to unlock gem badges?

I'm kind of annoyed that previous gem work doesn't count, but glad for the "fair start".

But Total Days is/was logged for Support to see that you've met the requirements, where as these Gem states were never logged and thus Support has nothing to see.

so bad, this is so annoying, I spent most of my dragonite fragment/gem dust already in order to craft gem booster. so after update I need to upgrade gem again..... what????
why not update this badge in eclipse??

Why can't you simply look to see who has 100% on a stat and apply those towards the total? If anyone's actually ever had a 100% drop they're so rare as to be an acceptable outlier.

Tens of millions of flux go into maxing the pr for a class, and I have already maxed 14 gems, so I hope there will be a way to work with customer support to count the gems that have already been maxed. It's easy to verify many of those that have met the requirement of all gem badges by simply recording all of the players that have 24487 pr in the leaderboards.
