    Lightbulb [Idea] Possible lore implementation

    As we know, Trove's lore is currently only in intro, other than that it's just hinted in various items and it's rather absent in the gameplay. I know there were probably similar topics to this with similar ideas, but here's my one how could that be done.

    First, there would be a Lore Book. It would contain all the lore information you have gathered so far, so you could read it. It would also be organized in "chapters". Now, most of the styles/items in game have a lore reference in description, and some styles refer to the same event/entity. These items would create "sets". Each set would correspond to a chapter in Lore Book. In the book, you could see all the descriptions from set items in their chapter, and see if there are any items you are missing for this chapter. It would show your progression, like "(3/7) lore gathered" for each chapter.

    Lore can be unlocked by getting certain items into your Collection. Alternate ways could include killing particular enemies or finding something in a dungeon.

    Now, if you get all lore from a chapter, you gain an option to experience it on your own, thanks to a new item called History Portal. It would be similar to Shadow Tower Portal, but it would list all the chapters from the book you completed, and let you open a portal linking to the specific event in the history. These "flashbacks" would be like Shadow Dungeons, but each of them would be different and have different objectives. There would be of course some battles, but story events could also include infiltration, escorting, finding something or even destroying a structure (or building?).

    Completing a flashback for the first time would grant you mastery. It would also unlock a story in the Lore Book. That story would explicitly explain you the corresponding event, instead of hints and clues like it's right now. Also, there could be a badge with unique rewards for number of flashbacks completed.

    The idea could be further expanded to be more than just collecting styles. It could require from player to use the given lore clues to find some sort of "key" to open the portal. These "keys" would be hidden in some dungeons/lairs, that fit a particular chapter. Then the you'd need the key AND filled chapter to open the flashback.

    So, examples of possible flashbacks include
    downfall/final battle of Frost Fae
    Arcanium Revolution, like desert exploration, making a mineshaft etc.
    Magitech War, following the above events
    The Sundering, like events of shadow invasion etc.
    Robot Uprising, maybe escaping from Neon City
    events not mentioned in hints, but related to some entities/places

    There are lots of events/entities/places described mentioned in different items from the game. So there's possibility to create many flashbacks related to them to give gameplay more variety. I know it would probably take a lot of time to have it in game, and probably won't happen, but if it WOULD happen, here's one possibility how would it work.

    If we want the game to be friendly to newer players; this would be bad. It would be a very long process and with new items getting added each patch It would be quite annoying. Maybe we could have dungeons discovered, enemies discovered etc.

    Not every item has lore allusions. Also, getting them would be rather a side-activity than a primary target. There's couple of things to do in Trove, getting lore could be done while farming dungeons or doing Shadow Tower. It's like with mastery, and PR, and all. You don't need to do one thing.

    Dungeons and enemies to unlock lore are interesting idea too. Especially dungeons, because they can have some hidden stuff inside (well, I mentioned it with the "keys").

    I like this. alot. but sadly trion is currently working on clubs 2.0 and next years power patch, so i doubt that we will see any lore soon

    Interesting thoughts. I will pre-emptively state that a number of ideas very similar to these have been floating around in design meetings for a long time now. Just in case we eventually go with implementing said ideas.

    I just want lore in general. The issue with these things in multiplayer though is how fast you can get through them... so if we went this route there would constantly have to updates i think. But I'm sure people would rather that than constantly focusing on the same things.

    This was what I wanted to be implemented into Trove, but I was too lazy to make a story up.
    Trino why you gotta make a lore video but no implement it into Trove???

    They delayed the Club patch into the next year . Currently they work on Shadow Tower 2.0 . Unless something changed recently ..
